Therefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:15-16 NKJV)

The apostle Paul knew first-hand the importance of revelation knowledge from the Lord, which is why is why he placed such importance on it in his letter to the church at Ephesus. When God reveals to you a truth from His Word, that revelation always causes you to become positive.

Revelation knowledge of the Word of God determines how you react to the situations you are currently facing. For instance, do you really believe that …

-       You are special to God?

-       You are God’s most prized possession?

-       You are washed by the blood of Jesus from every sin, weakness, and failure?

-       You are holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight?

-       You are crowned with glory and honor?

-       You have authority over every circumstance in your life?

-       God wants to turn every adversity into a victory?

-       God wants to turn every stumbling block into a steppingstone?

-       God wants to give you good things?

If you don’t have a revelation of a particular Bible truth, then you can’t walk in it. Mental assent to truth is not enough. Without revelation knowledge, you will always live way below your privileges in Christ.

Revelation knowledge comes through reading and meditating on the Word of God, and then choosing to believe that what God says is true. Once you have revelation of how special you are to God, you will be able to walk in every good thing He has for you.

Confession: As I read and meditate on the promises of God found in His Word, the spirit of wisdom and revelation will open my eyes to receive all the good things God has in store for me.

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. — PSALM 86:15

In F. F. Bosworth’s book Christ, the Healer, he brings out the following point:

“The Psalmist David understood healing to be a universal privilege. In Psalm 86:5, he said, ‘For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.’”

In his book, Bosworth has a chapter called “The Lord’s Compassion” that goes into detail about this and brings out this point: “Throughout the Scriptures, when the sick came for healing, they asked for mercy. You see, God’s mercy covers man physically as well as spiritually.”

Again and again, we read in the four Gospels that Jesus had compassion on the sick (see Matthew 9:36; 14:14; Mark 6:34; and Luke 7:13). The same Greek word for “compassion” is also translated “mercy.”

Blind Bartimaeus, who sat by the wayside begging and crying, said, “Jesus of Nazareth, have mercy on me.” And Jesus stopped and asked him what he wanted. He said, “That I might receive my sight.” Jesus had mercy on him and healed him. (See Mark chapter 10.)

When you read through the four Gospels, every time it says, “Jesus had compassion,” it means He had mercy. Therefore, Jesus, according to the Old Testament promise, showed that He was plenteous in mercy by healing not some, but all who came to Him!

Confession: God is good, ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy. He is compassionate and gracious to me, healing all my sicknesses and diseases.

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak. 2 Corinthians 4:13

Beloved, it is not enough for you to merely know the Word in your heart. You must say it. That’s when latent power becomes actual power. When our Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not merely think about Scripture. He spoke it out loud. You can memorize thousands of Scriptures, but if you don’t learn to say, “It is written,” and release the Word, there will be no power. God’s power is there, but it is all lying dormant inside you. But when you speak it out, God’s power is unleashed. When you release God’s Word through your mouth, you release God’s power into your situation.

Fear is not something you can reason or analyse away. Fear is irrational. There are some fears that come into your life, and you can think to yourself, come on, what are the chances of that happening? or It’s so silly to fear this. But have you noticed that those fears still hang around? We are in a war, my friend, and the only way to defeat fear is to speak the Word of God to whatever fear you have by saying, “It is written.”

It is written— “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

I want you to memorize that. It’s a powerful verse of Scripture.

Now, I want you to say this out loud: It is written— “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Do you feel the power that comes with saying this aloud?

This is the truth: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I don’t care what kind of fears you are battling with—fear of growing old, fear of contracting this or that disease, fear of losing your job, fear of failure. Whatever the fear that has come against you, declare, “It is written.”

What if the fear comes back? Then say it again! Sometimes, I speak Scriptures over my situation in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening. Whenever the fear comes back, I speak the Word of God. If the devil wants a fight, give him one! Give him the sword of the Spirit and he will get the point every time. There are many Scriptures you can memorize. Write down the Scriptures that cover the areas of your need and arm yourself with them!

If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth (Deuteronomy 28:1 AMP).

Have you noticed some believers seem to walk in the fullness of God’s promised blessings on a continual basis while others, who love Him no less, seem to struggle through life, never quite walking in the freedom they desire?

I believe the difference in these two groups can be summed up with these three words: listen and obey. Walking in God’s blessing really is this simple, yet there are those who have never made the commitment to follow His instructions.

God wants to bless you and empower you to prosper in every area of your life:

-       Spiritually

-       in your mind an emotions

-       in your body

-       financially

-       in your relationships with others

As you listen diligently to the voice of your God and do what the Word tells you to do, blessings will overtake you. God will give you practical instruction on how to prosper in every area of your life if you will listen to Him. The Holy Spirit inside you will teach you and empower you to do what He says.

-       He will teach you to have a dynamic and intimate friendship with the Father.

-       He will teach you how to take care of your body.

-       He will show you how to be a better worker, and He will cause you to be promoted.

-       He will give you ideas and direction on how to manage your business.

-       He will teach you how to get along with people and better understand others.

Listen to Him; He has the answer to your questions. Listen to Him; He will show you what to do and will give you the power to do it.

Confession: I will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord. As I hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and I am quick to obey, God’s blessings will come upon me and overtake me today.

When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:1–3

There is so much wrong believing today about who Jesus is. I am asking you to throw out every idea, concept, and picture that you may have of a “religious” Jesus. Allow me to introduce the real Jesus to you, for this is where it all begins.

I’m not talking about the religious Jesus you may have heard about growing up, but the real Jesus who walked along the dusty streets of Jerusalem and upon the raging waters of the Galilee.

He was the one whom the sick, the poor, the sinful, the down and out, and the outcast instinctively gravitated to and felt at ease with. He was God in the flesh and He manifested God’s tangible love.

In His presence, those who were imperfect didn’t feel fearful of Him, or sense judgment or condemnation from Him. To those who sought Him for healing, restoration, and supply—no matter what their past or background—He always extended a loving, compassionate heart and hand to them and oversupplied their need.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, you don’t have to be “religious” to have access to God and His help. In fact, the less “religious” you are, the better. The real Jesus didn’t come to bring a new religion. He didn’t come to be served and waited upon. No, He came to serve, and serve He did.

The real Jesus created the universe with one command and orchestrated the paths of each planet so that none would collide. He had every right to demand service from those He created, yet He supplied service.

He bowed down and with His own hands washed the grime and filth from His disciples’ feet. Those same hands would later be pierced with coarse nails at the cross, and He would with His own blood wash us of the grime and filth of all our sins by taking them upon His own body. What a far cry from the condemning, judgmental, faultfinding God whom many have portrayed Him to be!

This is the true Jesus—totally unlike what many of us have been taught about God. He is willing and able to meet your need today and love you into wholeness.
