We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness…If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 2 Timothy 2:19, 21

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that…we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. Hebrews 6:17-18
